As well as offering store wide discounts, Newcastle International passengers can expect top class customer service in every store they visit. The Boots store has just been awarded ‘Airport Store of the Year 2010’ at an internal awards ceremony and a brand new Dixons Travel store has recently opened its doors.
Gill Caleary, Commercial Director at Newcastle Airport, said: “The summer period is the busiest in the Airport’s calendar; we see the largest volume of families travelling through at this time. We’re pleased we can offer such great savings in the majority of our shopping outlets, making it easier for passengers to start their holiday as soon as they reach the Airport. Impeccable customer service is a priority for us- we’re really proud of the team at Boots and hope passengers enjoy the brand new Dixons Travel Store.”
The criteria for Boots’ award included excelling in expert customer care, sales and leadership. Amanda French, Store Manager of Boots at Newcastle Airport, said of the achievement: “To win the company’s ‘Airport Store of the Year’ is a great accolade. I am immensely proud of the amazing contribution made by every single colleague. It is a testament to our values of putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.”
Dixons Travel store, which has been part of the departures lounge at Newcastle for nearly six years, has adapted its new layout according to passenger needs. It has witnessed a change in shopping habits and created a new interactive environment to allow browsing. Dixons are investing in developing knowledge specialists in store to ensure there will be at least one specialist, within their team of ten, who can offer expert advice and guidance on the most popular products.
Darren Wills, Dixons Travel's Branch Manager at Newcastle Airport, said: “With the new format store, shopping for an electrical product is far more interactive and user friendly. With our ‘we beat the internet' pricing policy, we are able to offer outstanding customer service, and the best price on hardware in the UK.”
Delivering excellent customer service and a fulfilling retail experience to passengers is a key aim at Newcastle Airport.
