Nicola Quinn has been appointed Media and Public Affairs Executive at Newcastle Airport joining Dave Laws, Chief Executive, and Graeme Mason, Head of Planning and Corporate Affairs.
Previously an Account Manager at Newcastle’s leading PR agency Admiral, Nicola’s responsibilities spanned across a variety of national and regional corporate and consumer clients in both the public and private sectors.
Career highlights to date include; working on the opening of the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, launching Newcastle City Council’s Be Air Aware campaign, raising awareness for issue-led campaigns targeting motorcyclists on behalf of Devon County Council and young drivers on behalf of the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership, as well as extensive media relations activity and crisis management for a multitude of clients.
Newcastle-born Nicola returned to the region last year from South East healthcare agency, Pegasus PR. More recently, she played an integral role in the communications for the charity event Fashion Kicks; overseeing the media relations and press management at the event itself which achieved over 100 pieces of international, national and regional coverage.
“Following Newcastle Airport’s significant role in the recent ash cloud crisis, I was really eager to join the team and couldn’t wait to get started. The role is an amazing opportunity to be part of a growing and ambitious organisation that plays such an important part in the region; I see a very exciting future ahead”, said Nicola.
Graeme commented, “Nicola has a wealth of experience in proactive and reactive media management, event organisation, public affairs and related activities. She is great addition to the team and the business”.
