Emirates recruiting cabin crew in Newcastle on the 25th June

The event will take place at the Newcastle Marriott Hotel, High Gosforth Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE3 5HN and will feature presentations along with question and answer sessions for interested candidates.

Applicants should arrive at 9am in business attire, bringing a CV and photograph with them.

Emirates employs a large number of cabin crew from the UK, an increasing number of which are from the North East. One of those is Carly Twidle who joined the airline in 2007 and now works in Economy Class on state-of-the-art Boeing 777 and Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft.

Carly says: “Prior to joining Emirates, I was working in a ground-based aviation role.  Upon deciding I wanted to make the move to become cabin crew, I did my research and found that Emirates was seen to be the best airline and also offered the opportunity to live abroad, so I decided to pursue a career with them.

“Emirates’ incredible network means I really do get to see the world as I am never based on just one route. The airline really looks after you, providing accommodation, medical care and you’re based in Dubai, which is a great place to live.”

Among the requirements for cabin crew are that all applicants should be fluent in written and spoken English, be educated to Secondary School standard, and have a minimum arm reach of 212cms. Languages and previous hospitality or service industry experience are an added advantage. Cabin crew must be a minimum of 21 years old on joining Emirates.

The successful applicants who are offered a position with the award-winning airline will be based in Dubai, a vibrant, cosmopolitan city, renowned for its wonderful beaches, top-notch leisure and sports activities, fabulous hotels and shopping outlets, and high standards of living.

Emirates operates 14 daily services from the UK to Dubai and beyond, including a daily flight from Newcastle. The airline receives thousands of applications a month from hopefuls wanting to share in one of the aviation industry's success stories. Emirates’ cabin crew are drawn from more than 120 nationalities and speak over 80 languages.

The airline was launched in 1985, and now employs more than 50,000 people worldwide, 12,000 of them cabin crew. Emirates has a fleet of 148 Boeing and Airbus aircraft, including 10 Airbus A380 ‘superjumbos’. It serves over 100 destinations across six continents flying to airports in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, Indian sub-continent, Far East and Australasia and has won more than 400 international awards to date.

Staff benefits include a competitive tax-free salary, shared furnished accommodation, 30 days annual leave, complete medical care and industry personal travel perks.
